Summer is coming, and this is the perfect time to enjoy some snacks outdoors. With this recipe for quick and easy salsa, you can whip up a fun treat for family and friends.
INGREDIENTS:
- Ten fresh, roma tomatoes
- One yellow onion
- One cup cilantro
- One medium jalapeno (add more to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- Garlic salt (to taste)
DIRECTIONS:
- Chop onion into quarters.
- Chop off top of jalapeno.
- Toss onion and jalapeno into a blender or food processor.
- Blend until mixed.
- Chop tomatoes into quarters and remove seeds and pulp. (Seeds and pulp make salsa watery, so the less seeds and pulp, the more hearty your salsa.)
- Add tomatoes to blender or food processor and combine.
- Add cilantro, salt and pepper to blender or food processor and blend again.
- Taste salsa, adding more salt, pepper, cilantro or jalapeno as preferred. Add garlic salt for a slightly different taste. Blend until smooth.
- Serve with chips, cucumber or red pepper slices.
