- Use soap and water: While you might be tempted to grab abrasive cleaners or sponges, simple soap and water is the best way to clean your granite countertops. At Spectrum Stone Designs, we always carefully seal your countertops, but harsh chemicals or cleaning supplies can damage the seal. Stick to soap and water for best results.
- Limit Disinfectants: Granite is resistant to bacteria, so soap and water should thoroughly sanitize your granite countertops. However, if you find you need something stronger, try mixing isopropyl alcohol and water. Your solution should contain 50 percent isopropyl alcohol and 50 percent water.
- Add Some Shine: Want your granite countertops shining? It’s simple. Wipe a soft cloth covered in some cooking oil across your granite countertops and buff gently.
