to build Virginia Southern Living home
We love working with individual people and families and we also love partnering with other companies, like K&A Homes, LLC. We recently partnered with them to build the beautiful Southern Living Bayou Bend home in Appomattox, Virginia, which will be completed any day now and we were so honored to be part of such a beautiful project.
Spectrum Stone Designs chatted recently with Kelly Mann with K&A Homes to learn more about the project, and we wanted to share some of the details of the partnership and the stonework we incorporated into the gorgeous home. The family-owned construction company specializes in well-built homes with attention to precision as well as aesthetics, which is one of many reasons Spectrum Stones Design was thrilled to work with them. K&A also offers interior decorating and design services which is something we’re also passionate about, so the partnership was seamless.
For the past ten years Spectrum Stone Designs has provided and installed all of the countertops for homes built by K&A, including the Bayou Bend home. We also provide the company with tile for their backsplashes. When asked why the home building company went with us for their countertop and backsplash needs for this home, Kelly Mann with K&A Homes said, “We chose Spectrum Stone Designs to outfit our Southern Living Bayou Bend project because of their vast selection of materials as well as their customer service and support. Spectrum Stone Designs provided the kitchen countertops as well as vanity tops for four bathrooms.” Of course we love the work we do and pride ourselves on our materials, but our number one priority is our customers and making sure they have a pleasant experience.
Sometimes customers want unique countertop or backsplash options, and we love brainstorming ideas. With the Bayou Bend home, the customers wanted quartzite countertops with a unique, leather finish, so we used sequoia quartzite. Mann said, “This material had a beautiful, leather finish. However, Quartzite is a very hard and dense surface, making it harder to install. Spectrum Stone Designs worked with us to make sure that we had a finished product that was pleasing to our customers and also looked amazing!”
